See You On Thursday!

We are not sure how much time will be devoted to Internet over the next 4 days, so this may be the last you hear of us until you come and pick us up from the airport! Tomorrow, we will be getting up for an early breakfast at FFC and then saying our last goodbyes. From there, a bus ride back to Coimbatore to catch our flight to Delhi where we will be meeting Mme. Ranganathan, our french teacher from back in the day.
Our last day at FFC was very eventful starting with a binge clean of our 'ranch' and then going our separate ways for the morning. After lunch, we met all the kids to learn a (rather violent) native Indian game. At this moment, the name escapes me. It was a lot of fun and it is defiantly a game that we are going to bring back home. It is an awesome excuse for Riley and Russell to beat up each other while Harry and Ian watch. However, when Harry, Max, Jackson and Daniel tried to teach the kids Ultimate Frisbee, there was no interest and the kids decided that they would rather play soccer. The girls got henna on their arms, hands, and ankles and it looks pretty intense. Hopefully it will still be around when we come back to Toronto.
We've had an amazing time here at FFC and we are going to have a tough time leaving. The things that we have done here have made as much of on impact to these kids as they have had on us. It is a good thing that we have Delhi as a buffer to somehow ease our way back into life as we know it.

Hello Everyone!

It is such a pleasure for us to follow your travels and experiences during your India adventure and can only admire you for putting it down into such animated stories for us enjoy!

So thank you to all of you for your thoughtfulness and great attitude. Our thoughts are with you for a safe return home.

As we have always concluded, wherever you go, you leave a little somthing of yourself behind, just as much as you take a little something along to keep in your hearts forever.

Love and safe travels to all of you,

The Somanns

Those are going to be hard goodbyes to make.

You've changed so many lives for the better.

Travel safely. We are all soooo looking forward to seeing you again.

You've all had an eye-opening experience; a very different culture with many extremes, great beauty and also hardships. You've been not just observers, but participants in the life at FCC and will surely leave behind good memories for the children and appreciation for all your hard work. A buffer is just what you need for what will be a transition back. These last few days should be
a wonderful finale to your experiences.
Thanks to all of you for your blogs; they were appreciated and enjoyed, you didn't feel quite so far away.
Safe journey home; see you Thursday.

There is no doubt that the lives of everyone you have touched on this journey, and your lives, have been forever changed. The work you did at FCC and the artwork you leave behind will be a lasting reminder of your visit, albeit brief, to this place so so far from home.

We have loved sharing this experience with you, and can't wait to see all the photos and hear all the stories that will filter out in the days and weeks to come.

Russell and Riley can't wait to learn the "rather violent" native Indian game, and Ian wonders why he can't learn it too, instead of just watching.

The trip to the north will reveal a different India than you've seen in the south. Enjoy every second.

We can't wait to see you next week, and hope we get at least one or 2 more blog entries before we pick you up.

Until then, we miss and love you.

Just heard from Loren so I know you guys are now in Delhi, preparing for some great sight seeing.

Sounds like saying goodbye to the FFC kids was difficult. These are memories that you guys will definitely cherish.

Toronto is still quiet and boring but at least it has finally stopped snowing.

Can't wait to hear the rest of the Indian stories upon your return.

Thanks for calling Carly. You broke up my 10K run to work quite nicely. I went last night to Mela, a new Indian restaurant on Avenue Road. The beef curry with spinach was excellent. Of course we made the usual mistake of ordering the platter of appetizers as well as the main dishes, which led to the 10K run to work...

You will still come back to snow but quite a bit will have melted.

Have a wonderful time in Delhi. This trip has changed your lives forever, and has touched those at FFC forever. Enjoy the rest of your trip, and take it all in. I don't know when you will be staring at the Taj Mahal again for a little while anyway. Safe travels, and Josh, we cannot wait to have you home again. Jillian and Ally miss you a lot and even Matt said it's lonely on the third floor! See you Thursday!!!

Dear India gang:
It's been so great following your adventures in India via this blog. I was able to relive some very special memories of my past trips there. I am happy (okay a little envious ; ) that you got to explore the north a bit, too! Can't wait to hear from you guys when you get back... and see the photos/videos of course! I feel a connection with all "Yorkies", past and present, who have been fortunate enough to take part in this incredible experience. Safe travels.
